Farmall 400 Diesel

The Farmall 400 was built in 1954, 1955 and 1956. Row-crop and wheatland models were built and were powered by diesel, gasoline or lp engines. All three versions of this engine had 264 cubic inches and produced 48 hp. The 400 followed the Super M and was replaced by the 450. There were almost 41000 of these tractors built. The selling price in 1954 was $3500. The 400 offered the following new features, the fast-hitch, the torque-amplifier, independent pto, and hydra-touch hydraulics. Our 400 has a factory built wide front axle. It is serial number #33620, meaning it was built in 1956. We bought our 400 at Mather, Manitoba.
