John Deere 5010

The 5010 was the first John Deere tractor to exceed the 100 hp mark. It was rated at 106 hp. Production began in 1963 and ended in 1965. The 5010 had a 6 cylinder , 531 cubic inch engine. It was only available in diesel and used the 8 speed syncro-range transmission. John Deere built 7553  5010 tractors. The price tag for a new tractor was $11000. We bought our 5010 at Wawanesa, Manitoba. The serial number is #6986, making it a 1964 model. We removed the aftermarket cab after we received the tractor. Our tractor had a turbo-charger added later.
