John Deere 4020 gas

The 4020 production began in 1964 and ran till 1972.It was built to replace the 4010. The tractor we are featuring today is the 4020 gas. John deere built 8123 gas 4020 tractors. They used a 6 cylinder , 362 cubic inch engine which prodused 73 hp. By this time the serial number gave a lot info. The first number indicated the chassis type, ie, standard , row-crop etc, The next digit the fuel type. "R" or "P" indicated syncro range or power-shift. and the last digit indicated where it was built. Our 4020 gas came from Dyersville, Iowa. 4020 tractors with gas engines were very rarely sent to our area. Our 4020 gas  row-crop is somewhat rare as it came from the factory without 3 ph.The adjustable wide front axle and the front weights are factory original.
