John Deere 80

The "  80"   John Deere was built in 1955 and 1956.It replaced the R and in 1957 the 820 took the place of the 80. The two cylinder engine had a displacement of 470 cubic inches and produced 61 hp. It now had a 4 cylinder pony motor. 

The serial number of our 80 is #8001360, meaning it was built in 1956. We bought it at Whitemouth, Manitoba. Unfortunately a previous owner installed an after-market cab on this tractor which is loud and unpleasant to ride in.
