John Deere 730 wheatland diesel pony start
The 730 we are featuring today is the wheatland diesel with the pony start engine. There were 2213 of these wheatland 730's built.The tractor developed 53 hp. The serial number on this tractor is #7311854 and was built in 1959.
730 John Deere gas standard
This is the 4th variation of the 730 we have featured. The 730 gas engine had 360 cubic inches and produced 53 hp. This is the rarest tractor in our collection. There were only 292 of the 730 gas standard tractors built. Our 730 came from Onoway, Alberta. The serial number is #7310914 , built in 1959.

7 30 John Deere row crop gas
The 730 gas tractor has the 360 cubic inch engine. It is to produce 53 hp. John Deere built 3560 RC gas tractors. Much of the data on the gas is similiar to the Lp gas tractor. Our 730 gas came from Austin, Minnesota.

730 John Deere LP gas
Today's tractor is very similar to yesterday's posting. The Lp engine is smaller. The Lp engine has only 360 cubic inches compared to 376 in the diesel engine. The 730 was built in 1958, 1959 and 1960 in the US. However it was built till 1970 in Argentina. Our 730 Lp has the narrow front with the John Deere " Roll-o-matic " knee action. Our 730 came from Michigan on a trade. It was originally sent to Texas as a new tractor. The serial number is #7326760 making it a 1960 model.

John Deere 730 Row crop diesel
The 730 replaced the 720. It was built as a row-crop, standard, and high crop. They offered gasoline, Lp gas and diesel engines. Also offered were the choice of 24 volt electric start or pony motor start. The 2 cylinder engine had a displacement of 376 cubic inches and produced 53 hp. They were built in 1958, 1959 and 1960 , when the " New Generation" tractors replaced the two cylinder tractors.The 730 was John Deere's largest row crop tractor. Our 730 is an electric start model with the factory wide front axle. The serial number is #7311502 and was built in 1959. We bought it at Walhala N.D.

John Deere 630 row crop
The 630 John Deere was built in 1958, 1959 and 1960. There were over 18000 of these tractors built. They were built with gasoline and lp gas engines. The 2 cylinder engine had 303 cubic inches and produced 44 hp. The serial number of our tractor is # 6303650 making it a 1959 model. The tractor came from Altona. We will at a later date feature the 630 standard and the 630 lp row crop.

John Deere 820
There were 7080 "820" tractors built. It had the same 470 cubic inch engine as it's forerunner the 80. It produced 69 hp. The 80 was built in 1956, 1957 and 1958.The 830 followed in late 1958.
We have two 820's in our collection. #8200781 built in 1957 came from Langdon, N.D. and #8202224 came from Austin, Manitoba.
